There is a national vision for NHS Scotland that by 2020 everyone is able to live longer healthier lives at home or in a homely setting within a healthcare system. There will be more integrated health and social care and a focus on the prevention of ill health and help for people to look after themselves.
When hospital treatment is required and can’t be provided in a community setting then day case treatment will be the way most people are treated. Whatever the setting, care will be provided to the highest standards of quality and safety with the patient at the centre of all decisions.
To deliver this vision the NHS needs to start planning now to ensure that the services and the resources available are designed in a way that will support us all in the future.
We believe that it is important to involve you – whether you are a healthcare worker, a patient, a volunteer or someone who just has a view – in planning the future shape of clinical services across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
Whatever your views we want to hear from you. We’re in this together and this is an opportunity to share the best ideas to help plan ahead and ensure our clinical services are fit for the future.
